Rabi’iyah Association is a non-profit,non-political association under the umbrella of The Great Rabi’iyah Tariqa founded in 1940 by Sheikh Muhammad Rabiu Deen. It is a descendant of Qadiriya Tariqa,following the Ash’ari creed and practising Shafi’i school of thought .

The Rabi’iyah Tariqa was established in Northern and Eastern Somalia with few disciples when ignorance about religious sciences,anarchy,coupled with tribal clashes were rampant vices that could not be addressed by then with ease.

To eradicate these vices,Sheikh Muhammad Rabiu Diin founded Rabi’iyah Tariqa by constructing Majalis(places of worship as well as schooling) from his own funding where he provided free Islamic education and nurtured good morals to students.Alongside the Majalis,he built Islamic schools with boarding facilities to accommodate pupils enrolled from all over the region.Children were taught until they reached adulthood and mastered significant Islamic knowledge.As students graduated,they had the capacity to become teachers and many Majalis and Madrasas (Islamic Schools) were built to accommodate more pupils.
